Athens - the city

This is the view from our hotel window. The hotel had a rooftop bar that we enjoyed each night.

Mike in front of the Parthenon. This is an amazing feat, I can't imagine how hard it was to build this 2000 years ago (or whatever...).

We're at the Ancient Agora, with the Acropolis behind us.

Our last day we had to take a break from the heat, so we found a restaurant that served us some wine, which led to more wine, and then some ouzo in the bar, and we had ourselves a lovely afternoon! Can you tell from my glassy eyes that this was during the second bottle of wine?

Our favorite bartender, Costas. Isn't he a cutie? He taught us some greek phrases, as well as a bit about their culture. Of course, in my inebriated state, I found this all absolutely, positively fascinating.
