The week before the week before...Christmas!

Luke was so excited that his birthday is coming up that he decided to write his name on the 16th on our calendar.   Standing on a stool, tongue out, serious stuff here!

More Sparkles shenanigans

Luke has a weekly assignment of Tell Not Show, where you tell your classmates clues about an object, and they try to guess.  This week Luke chose his autographed baseball.  I think it's about the cutest little boy thing to pick. :) 

This year we're trying the Lego Advent calendar, which is star wars themed. They're loving it!  Every morning they have a tiny character to build, and then they get on with their day. 

Sparkles was looking for cookies, none to be found...

She swapped her head out for Josh's favorite cereal's character's head. 

Josh had an assignment to write about his experience in a snow globe. He wrote about how he got sick and threw up when he was shaken. The illustration is pretty gross.

The kids got awards for being good students.  

Throughout the course of the school year, every kid will get one, but the boys got theirs on the same month!  Kind of cool! 

Somehow they lost their enthusiasm between the award assembly and home for pictures. 

Luke decided it was a "lame" award since you only get a piece of paper. We tried to explain to him how some pieces of paper are more important than others (think diploma, deed to the house, drivers license, etc.) but he wasn't having it.

Shortly after I took that sad, sad picture, they decided to do some football drills. Luke gets inside the recycling bin, then Josh throws at him, or he throws at Josh. It's to teach quick reaction times.  There is never a dull moment at our house. 

Friday night we went to the World Championship Ice Climbing event at the fairgrounds. We watched some incredible climbers.  one guy climbed up several times in under 9 seconds each. 

We stayed for less than an hour, but we loved it. 

They had a big mammoth (the mascot of Marmot, I guess), and of course we had to pose in front of it.

Sparkles was in the kitchen a lot this week...

Josh had some science experiment fun in the garage with his friend, Gabe.  Every time I checked on them, they were safe and doing fun stuff. Then Josh came running in with black fluid all over his face, and it turned out they were trying to see what is inside a battery. He had battery acid all over his face and arms, but thankfully the burns weren't bad.  He is almost all healed only 24 hours later, thank God. 

We went to SOby's for possibly the last time ever. Luke requested a star destroyer from Star Wars for his pancake shape. 

Josh requested Darth Vader's helmet.  

Today was the day to go to Santa! Luke likes nutcrackers now that we saw the ballet  in real life!

Santa's visit was fun!

Luke was afraid he would forget his list, so he wrote it down at Soby's.  Here he is reading the list.  "Seahawks helmet, Flip Feery (fury...a nerf gun) and Disney Infinity three poonto. (Disney Infinity 3.0)"  Love this so much!
